Mehmet Ali Sanlıkol

Grammy nominated composer and jazz pianist Mehmet Ali Sanlıkol’s music has been praised by the Boston Globe as “colorful, fanciful, full of rhythmic life, and full of feeling. The multiculturalism is not touristy, but rather sophisticated, informed, internalized”. Sanlıkol is a full time faculty member at the New England Conservatory and he has composed for, performed and toured with international stars and ensembles such as Dave Liebman, Bob Brookmeyer, Billy Cobham, Anat Cohen, Antonio Sanchez, Tiger Okoshi, Miguel Zenón, Gil Goldstein, Esperanza Spalding, The Boston Camerata, The Boston Cello Quartet, A Far Cry string orchestra, American Composers Orchestra, Okay Temiz and Erkan Oğur. Sanlıkol was a recipient of the prestigious Aaron Copland Fund for Music Program Grant twice in 2016 and 2020, the New Music USA Project Grant in 2020, and the South Arts Jazz Road Creative Residency Grant in 2021, among other awards.

Anat Cohen

Anat Cohen has emerged as one of the brightest stars in jazz. Cohen began clarinet studies at age 12. While in her teens, jazz captured her imagination which led to her attending Berklee College of Music where she honed not only her jazz chops, but also expanded her musical horizons, developing a deep love for various Latin music styles. After graduating, she moved to New York City and began to make her mark on the scene. The Jazz Journalists Association voted Cohen Clarinetist of the Year 11 years in a row, and she has topped both the Critics and Readers Polls in the clarinet category in DownBeat every year since 2011. Cohen has released 11 albums as a leader on her own label Anzic, which was established in 2005. Three releases so far were nominated for Grammy Awards.

Miguel Zenón

Widely considered as one of the most groundbreaking and influential saxophonists and composers of his generation, Miguel Zenón has also developed a unique voice as a conceptualist, concentrating his efforts on perfecting a fine mix between jazz and his many musical influences. Zenón was selected as the Alto Saxophonist of the Year by the Jazz Journalist Association in 2015, 2018, 2019 and 2020. He has given hundreds of lectures and master classes at institutions all over the world. In April 2008 Zenón received a fellowship from the prestigious John Simon Guggenheim Foundation.
